What it's for
Alerts tells a technician when dispatch has given them a job. Every time a visit is assigned to you, a new alert appears here, whether or not text or email notices are turned on for your company.
Reach it from the bell in the field app header, at /tech/alerts. The bell
shows how many alerts you have not opened yet.
Tabs
The screen has no tabs. It is one list, newest first.
Panels and controls
- Job assignments lists each alert as
Assigned: WO-…, <time>, with the time shown in your company's time zone. - Alerts you have not opened yet carry a New chip.
- Tapping an alert opens that job. Opening the job marks its alert read and takes it off the count on the bell.
- No alerts yet is the empty state: job assignments show up here as dispatch makes them.
What it accepts
The screen takes no input. Alerts are created when a visit is assigned to you and cleared when you open the job.
How to configure it
Nothing in Settings changes how this screen behaves. Alerts are always on; the text and email notice settings only control messages sent outside the app.
Who can see it
This screen is part of the field app. Technicians see it on their own phone or tablet, showing only the alerts for jobs assigned to them.
Office roles work from the office app instead; they do not use this screen.
