Idle fleet redeployment
Reviewed against source:
Open Rentals → Idle Redeploy in Thermal →
Before you start: Rentals has to be switched on for your company (Settings → Capabilities). Until then this screen is not in the menu. Nothing on this page reserves a unit or moves it.
What it's for
Idle fleet redeployment lists idle company units next to uncommitted rental quotes so the office can review them. The header says Review idle units against uncommitted quotes. Nothing is reserved or moved.
Open it from Review idle units on Utilization, at
/rentals/idle-redeploy.

Panels and controls
Suggested redeployments states the bounds it used: at least 7 complete days idle, a 30-day planning window, and up to 20 suggestions. Rank is estimated rental days, then straight-line distance. Quotes can change; capacity and routes still need a person.
Hide suggestions pauses this view. Show suggestions brings it back. Automation controls opens Automations.
Review coverage says how many available fleet units and uncommitted quotes were reviewed in your branch. If the scan hits its limit it says Partial coverage: the scan reached its limit; other matches may exist. Otherwise it says only live rental quotes with a requesting site and a matching serialized unit are considered.
Each card is Suggested. There is no Apply. The bound reads Suggest only · no fleet changes. The score is a percent of potential use, estimated from the quoted dates. Distance may be unknown.
Suggestions are paused / This view is hidden or automation is turned off. Show suggestions to resume this view; the master automation switch must also be on.
No matching redeployments / No eligible idle unit matched the reviewed quotes. Units in use, committed, unsafe, or below the idle threshold are excluded.
What it accepts
The page only reads. Setting the module to Auto does not reserve or move equipment; the review stays Suggest only. Off on the module, or the master automation switch off, hides the suggestions.
How to configure it
- This screen belongs to the rentals module. A company that has not turned the module on does not see it — check Settings → Capabilities, and Settings reference for what your plan includes.
- Automations holds the master switch and this module. It starts as Suggest, with the master switch on.
Who can see it
This screen sits behind the Rentals area.
Owners and office managers can open it. Dispatchers and technicians cannot. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it.
The full role matrix is on Roles & permissions.
