Open Jobs in Thermal →

What it's for

Jobs finds service calls and work orders across their whole life, from booking to invoicing. Open a row to view its job record. Use Dispatch to place visits on the calendar.

Reach it from Work → Jobs at /jobs. New job opens the booking form; users with Dispatch access can also choose New intake to start with the customer's request.

Tabs

  • Open — jobs that are not completed, invoiced or canceled.
  • Unscheduled — jobs with unscheduled status.
  • Today — jobs with a non-canceled visit starting today in the company time zone.
  • Emergency — open jobs with Emergency priority.
  • All — jobs in every status, including closed jobs.

Each tab carries a count. Counts follow branch scope but do not shrink with search or the technician and job-type filters. The header also counts open, unscheduled and open emergency jobs.

Panels and controls

Search jobs… matches customer names and summaries. A job number matches exactly, with or without the company's configured prefix, such as 6727 or WO-6727. Clear search returns to the default list.

Branch chips, when available, narrow the list within your allowed branches. Tech filters by the technician on the earliest non-canceled visit, rather than anyone who has ever visited the job. Job type filters the work category. The table supports saved views, column selection and pagination, initially 25 rows.

Export downloads matching jobs as CSV using the same list filters and sort, up to the whole-list export limit. Row editing changes Summary and Priority. Selecting rows exposes these bulk actions:

  • Schedule creates visits for unscheduled jobs today at 9 a.m. in the company time zone. Visit length follows branch/job-type defaults. Already scheduled jobs are skipped.
  • Assign tech applies the chosen technician through the scheduling checks.
  • Notify customer queues appointment reminders and reports queued or not-sent results with reasons. Queued does not prove delivery.
  • Cancel skips completed and invoiced jobs. The confirmation warns that it cannot be undone.
  • Delete is limited to unscheduled jobs; scheduled, dispatched, worked and closed jobs are skipped. It removes the job from the active list.

An empty list explains the cause: No jobs match the search, Nothing unscheduled, Nothing scheduled for today, No open emergencies, No jobs yet in All, or No open jobs in Open.

To return a completed job to work, use Reopen job on its record, with a reason and return-visit time. An invoiced job cannot be reopened until its invoice is voided.

How to configure it

Scheduling defaults and branch overrides set visit length. Company time zone sets Today and bulk scheduling. Invoicing settings set the job-number prefix. Notification settings and customer contact preferences govern reminders. Staff, job types and branch assignments supply the filters. Saved views can restore a preferred set of list filters.

Who can see it

This screen sits behind the Jobs area. Owners, office managers and dispatchers can open it with the standard roles. Technicians use their assigned jobs in the field app. Custom roles and branch scope can narrow access. A direct link does not bypass those checks.

See Roles & permissions.
