Technician
Technician
Technician covers the field app: accepting and starting a job, logging parts and time, capturing signatures and photos, and completing an inspection. Everything here is scoped to your own assigned work — you won't see other technicians' schedules or shop-wide pricing.
Getting started
New to the field app? This is your onboarding path — six guides, in order, that take you through a job from start to finish, then into the tools you'll reach for along the way. Work through them top to bottom on your first pass; come back to any one of them later as a reference on your next job.
- Accept and start a work order — start here. Go from an assigned job on your schedule to on-site and working.
- Close out a job — the shape of every job: the guided Diagnose → Build → Wrap chain, from on-site work to a signed-off job. Read this before your first job so you know where the other guides fit in.
- Capture equipment in the field — attach a unit already on record, or scan a nameplate to add a new one, as part of diagnosing the job.
- Photos and field forms — before/after job photos, the PM checklist, and the requests that go to the office (reschedule, recommend work, needs parts, follow-up visit).
- Collect payment in the field — record cash or check once a job's complete and there's a balance due.
- Complete a preventive maintenance inspection — a job type of its own: run through readings, photos, and checks, and get a signature before you leave.
More technician guides are on the way — the offline/sync behavior when you lose signal is next.
