Complete an arrival safety check (JHA)

Once you arrive on site and the job flips to on-site, a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) card shows up on the job page if the company requires one for this kind of work or equipment. It's a short safety checklist you complete before diving in — not paperwork for its own sake, it's what catches a hazard before it catches you.

Steps

  1. Tap Start JHA on the job page. The checklist that loads is whatever applies to this job type and equipment — you don't choose it.
  2. Answer each question. Anything marked Required has to be answered before you can submit; everything else is optional. A question that asks you to acknowledge something (e.g. "I've reviewed this JHA") is a single tap.
  3. Your answers save automatically as you go, right on your device — if you get interrupted, lose signal, or the app closes, nothing is lost. Come back and your answers are still there.
  4. Tap Submit JHA. This needs a live connection — it's the one part of this flow that can't happen offline, since it's the company's official record that the check happened.

If something's flagged

If one of your answers points to a real hazard, the submission comes back stopped — you'll see a clear "Stop work" state on the job page instead of a plain "Submitted" one. That's not a bug: it means work on this job is paused until a supervisor reviews it and clears it with a reason. You can't clear it yourself, and the checklist you submitted is never edited or hidden — the record stays exactly as you filed it.

What happens after

Once submitted, your JHA is locked in — the technician, job, site, time, and every answer are part of the permanent record. If you need to redo a check later on the same visit (say the job pauses and restarts), that's a new submission, not a change to the old one.
