New invoice

What it's for
New invoice starts an invoice for a customer without a completed job behind it. Use it for billing that does not come from a visit: a fee, a deposit, a one-off charge. Jobs that are finished still bill from the job.
Reach it from the New invoice button on the Invoices
list, at /invoices/new. Saving takes you straight to the new invoice at
/invoices/<invoice>.
Tabs
No tabs; one short form.
Panels and controls
- Customer — who is being billed. This is the only required choice.
- Service site — optional. Pick one of that customer's service sites if the charge belongs to a place.
- Agreement — optional. Link a service agreement if the charge belongs to one.
- PO / reference — optional. The customer's purchase order number, printed on the invoice.
- Payment terms — optional. When payment is due.
- Notes — optional. Anything the customer should read on the invoice.
- Create invoice — saves it as a draft and opens it.
What it accepts
Only the details above. You do not add lines here: add them on the invoice once it is created. Tax is worked out automatically from the customer and site, so there is nothing to type for it.
How to configure it
Nothing in Settings changes how this screen behaves.
Who can see it
This screen sits behind the Invoices area.
Owners and office managers can open it. Dispatchers and technicians cannot. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it.
The full role matrix is on Roles & permissions.
