What it's for
Prebill escalations suggests a different approver for prebills that have waited past the approval window. Open it from Invoices → Prebill escalations, at /invoices/prebill-escalations. The suggestion never changes anything by itself: an owner or office approver reassigns the reviewer from the list, and the suggested approver is the starting choice.

Panels and controls
All invoices returns to the invoice list. Waiting prebills are listed under Waiting for approval, oldest first. Each suggestion reads like "next approver — name" for an invoice, shows how many minutes it has been waiting, gives the reason, and links to Review that invoice.
Owners and office managers also see a Reviewer picker and a Reassign button under each suggestion. The picker starts on the suggested approver, marked "(suggested)", and lists everyone else who could review that invoice: active owners and office staff whose branch access covers it. Reassign names that person as the invoice's reviewer and changes nothing else; the invoice stays waiting for approval and drops off this list once its reviewer is the suggested approver. Each reassignment is recorded in the invoice's history with the previous reviewer, the new reviewer, who made the change and whether the suggestion was used. If the invoice was approved, returned or sent in the meantime, Reassign refuses and asks you to refresh. Dispatchers see the suggestions without the picker.
Empty states: Prebill escalation suggestions are off (invoice approval continues through the usual review queue) and No overdue prebills. If the list is capped, the page says it shows the oldest available review window and more prebills may need review.
What it accepts
The only input is the Reviewer choice for Reassign, limited to the eligible reviewers listed for that invoice. The approval window in minutes comes from the prebill escalation policy and is shown above the list.
How to configure it
The policy is set under Settings → This company → Invoicing (Invoicing settings), next to the prebill approval policy:
- Escalate overdue prebill approvals turns this list on or off. When it is off, the screen says suggestions are off.
- Escalate after (hours) is the approval window, in whole hours from 1 to 8760. The default is 48 hours.
- Escalation approver is suggested first. Default approver is suggested when the escalation approver can't review an invoice. Both are optional and list active owners and office staff who can see every branch; with neither set, the office approver pool is suggested.
Who can see it
This screen sits behind the Invoices area.
Owners, office managers and dispatchers can open it. Technicians cannot. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it. Reassigning a reviewer additionally needs the prebill approver role (owner or office manager), also checked on the server.
The full role matrix is on Roles & permissions.
