Customer credit

What it's for

Customer credit shows the account's open invoice balance and unbilled completed work, and lets the office save a credit limit or hold.

Open Credit controls from the customer record's actions. The route is /customers/<customer>/credit.

Tabs

There are no tabs. Exposure, credit controls and unbilled work share one page.

Panels and controls

  • Credit exposure shows open invoices, unbilled completed work, total exposure and available credit. Work still held for parts is excluded from unbilled completed work until its hold is released.
  • Credit controls sets the credit limit, hold and hold reason. Releasing an existing hold requires an override reason, which stays in the customer audit history. A hold blocks new work for the customer: jobs they pay for (as site customer, bill-to or agreement payer) cannot be scheduled, dispatched or resumed until the hold is released. An over-limit status is shown on this page for office review and does not block work.
  • Unbilled completed work lists each job's amount and the account's credit status. Select a row to open the job.
  • Save credit controls saves the account's limit and hold. Back to customer returns to the customer record.

How to configure it

Nothing in Settings changes how this screen behaves.

Who can see it

This screen sits behind the Customers area.

Owners, office managers and dispatchers can open it. Technicians cannot. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it.

The full role matrix is on Roles & permissions.
