Count sheet

What it's for

Use a count sheet to enter what is physically at a stock location, review the differences, then post or cancel the count. Its route is /inventory/counts/[id], reached from Counts.

Tabs

The record has one Count sheet section. The status steps show Draft, Counting, and Posted. New counts begin in Counting. Canceled counts show Canceled without the steps.

Panels and controls

Each line shows the part, expected quantity, counted quantity, signed unit difference, and cost variance. Expected is the starting snapshot. Positive differences mean more was counted; negative differences mean less.

While Counting, enter a quantity and leave the field or press Enter to save. The row shows saving, recorded, saved, or an error. Correct an invalid quantity or choose Retry save after a failed save. Posting stays unavailable until edited quantities have saved.

Post count opens a confirmation showing how many lines will be adjusted and the estimated net cost variance. Choose Confirm posting to apply the saved counts once. Uncounted lines stay unchanged. Stock movements after a quantity was counted are preserved. If posting would take stock below zero, the dialog explains the refusal and no lines are posted.

Cancel count → Confirm cancellation leaves stock unchanged. Posted and canceled count sheets are read-only. The aside shows the location, scope, start date, lines counted, net difference, and a separately labeled total cost variance; posted counts also show when they were posted.

Cost variance uses the book quantity when each counted quantity was saved. It can differ from the starting-snapshot unit difference if stock moved before that save. The posted cost variance keeps the cost captured at posting, even if the part's current cost later changes.

What it accepts

Counted quantities must be whole numbers from zero through 2,147,483,647. Leave an uncounted line blank to keep that part unchanged. A count needs at least one saved quantity before this screen allows posting.

How to configure it

Nothing in Settings changes how this screen behaves. Only counts in your company and permitted branches can be opened.

Who can see it

Owners and office managers with Inventory access can open this screen. Dispatchers and technicians cannot. See Roles & permissions.
