Subcontractor retainage

Reviewed against source:

Open Subcontractors → Retainage in Thermal →

What it's for

Subcontractor retainage estimates how much retainage you are holding back from approved subcontractor invoices. Open it from Subcontractors → Retainage, at /subcontractors/retainage.

The figures are estimates from each project's current retention terms. Thermal does not record subcontractor withholding or releases, so check the amounts before you release any funds.

Tabs

The Subcontractors tab bar sits above the page and links this screen with the other subcontractor screens. The retainage screen itself has one table.

Panels and controls

Three tiles: Estimated held, Estimated eligible (completed projects only) and Missing terms, the count of invoices whose retainage cannot be worked out and are left out of the totals.

The table has one row per approved subcontractor invoice: Subcontractor (links to the subcontractor), Project / agreement, Invoice (links to the invoice), Estimated withheld, Running estimate, Estimated held, Eligible estimate, Reason, Basis, Site customer, Invoice bill-to and Agreement payer. Unknown amounts show Unknown; missing customers show Not recorded. Use the search box to find a subcontractor, project or customer.

The empty state is No approved subcontractor invoices.

What it accepts

Only approved subcontractor invoices appear. Basis is Current terms estimate or Unknown. You need the View costs permission to open it.

How to configure it

Nothing in Settings changes how this screen behaves.

Who can see it

This screen sits behind the Subcontractors area.

Owners and office managers can open it. Dispatchers and technicians cannot. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it.

The full role matrix is on Roles & permissions.
