Kits

Open Inventory → Kits in Thermal →

What it's for

Define the parts needed to assemble a finished inventory item. Open Kits from Inventory, then choose a kit to see its components or build it.

Tabs

This list has no tabs. Each row opens a kit record.

Panels and controls

  • Search kits filters the list by kit name.
  • Kit opens the record; Components counts its directly listed parts.
  • New kit opens the definition form. Choose Add component to add a row, Remove component to remove one, and Save kit to save the definition.

What it accepts

  • Finished item: an existing inventory item without a kit definition.
  • Component: an existing inventory item, including another kit.
  • Component quantity: a positive whole number for one finished kit.

A definition needs 1–100 different components. All items must be active and use the same currency. A kit cannot contain itself, directly or through another kit. Saving a definition does not change stock.

How to configure it

Create the finished item and its components in Inventory before defining a kit. This form has no separate settings. Inventory costing settings affect later builds.

Who can see it

This screen sits behind the Inventory area. Owners and office managers can open it under the standard roles; dispatchers and technicians cannot. The server checks access even when someone opens a direct link.

See Roles & permissions for custom access rules.
