Choose what your customers get

Open Settings → Customer Emails in Thermal →

What it's for

Choose what your customers get is the one setup step where an owner decides which automatic customer emails their company sends. Each offered email is shown with the real message a customer would receive, using the company's own name, so the choice is made against the actual copy rather than a label.

Reach it from the Customer emails item on the setup checklist, or directly at /settings/customer-emails. The same choices stay editable afterwards at Settings → Documents and notices → Notifications.

Tabs

This screen has no tabs. It is one column: a section per offered email, each with a checkbox and the email's preview, then a single Turn on customer emails action.

Panels and controls

Offered emails

Each section is one automatic customer email: Booking confirmation, Appointment updated, Appointment reminder, Tech on the way, and Survey request. The first four are ticked for the owner; the survey request starts unticked. The preview under each checkbox is the template's own text.

Reply-to mailbox

Enter the office mailbox that receives customer replies. Accepting saves it with your choices. A missing or invalid mailbox shows an error and saves nothing when any email is selected. Returning to the step shows your saved choices.

Turn on customer emails

One action saves the ticked set, turns the master customer-notification switch on, and records the setup as accepted — all in one change. Until it is used, the master switch stays off and nothing automatic goes to customers.

Text messages

Text messaging is not offered on this step and every customer text cell stays off. Texts only turn on once the company has a sender and customer consent configured, at Settings → Integrations → Text messaging.

What it accepts

The step accepts a ticked/unticked state for each of the five offered emails. Emails outside the offered set (invoices, quotes, inspections, change orders, and agreement renewals) are not changed by this step. Accepting writes every customer text cell off and leaves technician and staff cells untouched.

How to configure it

Open /settings/customer-emails, untick any email the company does not want, tick any it does, and choose Turn on customer emails. The choice is stored in the company notification policy and is audited as one notification_settings_changed change.

Who can see it

Owners and office users with access to the Settings area can open this screen and accept the step. Technicians and dispatchers cannot reach it.
