What it's for

The setup step that names each place your crews start the day from. It appears only when you told setup the company works from two to four, or five or more, locations. Each location is a branch: the first renames your existing default branch, and the rest are added as new branches.

The route is /setup/locations.

Panels and controls

One row per location, each with Name, Address, City and State (or Province for a Canadian company). Rows that already exist as branches stay on the list; a new row you added can be removed before you save.

  • Add another location adds an empty row.
  • Continue saves every row and moves on to the next setup step. Opened again after setup, the button reads Save locations.

To archive a location you no longer use, go to Settings → Branches. This step never deletes or archives a branch.

What it accepts

Each location needs a name, up to 120 characters, and no two locations can share a name. Address, city and state are optional. You need at least two locations, and you can add up to 25 here; add more in Settings → Branches. The address country comes from your company's country, the same way Settings → Branches sets it.

How to configure it

  • Business hours and defaults settings change how this screen behaves. They live under Settings.
  • shopProfile settings change how this screen behaves. They live under Settings.

Who can see it

This screen sits behind the Settings area.

Owners and office managers can open it. Dispatchers and technicians cannot. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it.

The full role matrix is on Roles & permissions.
