Share a company service bulletin with technicians

Open OEM Bulletins in Thermal →

Use OEM bulletins to share a service bulletin your company received with techs working on matching equipment. You can upload a file or save a link to the manufacturer's copy.

Before you start

You need a manufacturer vendor for the manufacturer named in the bulletin. The bulletin is filed against that manufacturer. If your company has no manufacturer vendors, both forms show: "Add a manufacturer vendor first — a bulletin is filed against the manufacturer whose equipment it applies to."

Owners and office staff can manage company bulletins. The bulletin stays private to your company.

Upload a bulletin file

Use an upload when you have a copy of the bulletin to share.

  1. Open OEM bulletins.
  2. In Upload a bulletin, choose the Manufacturer.
  3. Enter the Title. Enter a Bulletin number, a Bulletin date, or both.
  4. Under Applies to, choose Exact model or Model family, then enter the Model or family. Add Equipment type (optional) when the bulletin only applies to that kind of equipment. Use Add another model when it covers more than one model or family.
  5. Add a Summary (optional) if it will help the tech understand the bulletin.
  6. Choose the file, then select Upload bulletin.

Uploads are files, not links. You can delete an uploaded bulletin, but you cannot edit it in place. Delete it and upload the corrected file when the details or file change.

If file storage is not set up, Upload a bulletin says: "Bulletin storage isn't configured yet — ask an admin to set up the private document store to enable uploads here." You can still use a bulletin link if you have a manufacturer vendor.

Use a link when the manufacturer hosts the bulletin on its own site.

  1. Open OEM bulletins.
  2. In Link a bulletin, choose the Manufacturer.
  3. Enter the Title. Enter a Bulletin number, a Bulletin date, or both.
  4. Set Applies to and Model or family. Add Equipment type (optional), additional models, and a Summary (optional) when needed.
  5. Enter the Bulletin URL, then select Save link.

You can select Edit on a linked bulletin, change its details or URL, and select Update link. You can also delete the link. A link opens the manufacturer's page; it does not give techs a file to download or save for offline use.

Make sure the right equipment gets it

Thermal matches a bulletin to equipment when the selected manufacturer resolves to the same manufacturer as the equipment, including a known make alias. An exact model or model-family match is required. If you entered an equipment type, that must match too.

Clear matches are added automatically. Missing, unknown, ambiguous, or unparseable manufacturer, model, or equipment-type details become office-review candidates instead. Definite conflicts or mismatches are excluded. Those candidates, excluded bulletins, and bulletins your office hides do not reach techs.

What a tech sees

On an assigned job with matching equipment, a tech sees eligible bulletins in the Service bulletins section. An uploaded bulletin can be opened, downloaded, and saved for offline use when its stored file is available. A linked bulletin shows a Manufacturer link instead. If an uploaded file is unavailable, techs see that they cannot open it and can use the OEM source link once they are online.
