Approval delegation

Open Automations → Delegation in Thermal →

What it's for

Approval delegation routes pending automation approvals to another approver during an out-of-office window. Choose one module or all modules. The approval record keeps both the original approver and the person who approved.

Tabs

There are no tabs. Saved windows appear above the window form. Open approval history opens the automation approval queue.

Panels and controls

Add delegation saves a window. Edit changes a saved window, and Remove revokes it. Only an owner can change these settings.

The form asks for the Original approver, Delegate, Module scope, Window starts, and Window ends. Enter dates in your device's local time; the saved list shows UTC.

What it accepts

Both people must be active owners or office users in the same company. Choose someone other than the original approver. An owner's delegate must also be an owner.

The end must come after the start. Routing begins at the start and ends at the end time. Windows covering the same module cannot overlap; an all-modules window also overlaps any module-specific window at that time.

The delegate still needs permission to carry out the proposed action. If their approval tier changes or they become inactive, the approval is refused and stays pending.

How to configure it

Open Approval delegation, choose the people and window, then select Add delegation. Use Edit to adjust a window or Remove to restore normal routing for pending approvals immediately. Ending a window does not change who approved an already-approved proposal.

Who can see it

Owners and office users can open this screen. Only owners can add, edit or remove windows. Dispatchers and technicians cannot open it.
