What it's for
Job volume & margin by lead source breaks job volume, revenue, and known-cost margin down by where the job's demand came from — referral, website, cold call, or whatever the office typed in. It shows which acquisition channels actually produce paying, profitable work rather than just volume.
Reach it from Reports → Job volume & margin by lead source, at /reports/lead-source.

Panels and controls
- KPI strip shows total jobs, revenue, known cost, margin, and margin % across the selected scope.
- Jobs by lead source table lists each source with its job count, revenue, known cost, margin, margin %, spend, cost per job, cost per new customer, and return on spend.
- Spend is the monthly spend entered for the source on Marketing spend (
/reports/lead-source/spend) for the months in the range. A branch view counts only that branch's entries; the org-wide view counts every branch's entries plus the org-wide ones. Spelling and capital letters don't matter: spend entered as "google lsa" matches jobs recorded as "Google LSA". - Cost per job is spend ÷ jobs. Cost per new customer is spend ÷ customers created in the range with that lead source. Return on spend is revenue ÷ spend, shown as a multiple such as 4.0x. Each is blank (a dash), never 0, when the source has no spend or the divisor is zero. A source with spend but no jobs still gets a row.
- Spend is entered by month, so the spend columns fill in only when From is the 1st of a month and To is the last day of a month; a range of several whole months adds up each month's spend. For any other range, including the default trailing 90 days, the table says "Choose whole calendar months to see spend-based figures." and leaves those columns blank.
- Export downloads the same rows and columns as CSV, XLSX, or PDF.
- Branch scope chips appear when the org compares branches.
- From / To date pickers set the window; Filter applies it, Clear resets to the trailing 90 days.
What it accepts

| Branch | chip | No | Appears only when the org compares branches |
How to configure it
Lead source is a free-text field on the New job form (matching the customer's lead-source convention — no enum). Jobs created without one fall back to the customer's lead source when it exists, and otherwise resolve to Unspecified.
