Unbilled work

Open Reports → Unbilled Work in Thermal →

What it's for

Unbilled work finds finished customer work that has not turned into an invoice value. Open it from Reports at /reports/unbilled-work, then open a Job to review the work and its paperwork. See Bill a completed job for the billing procedure.

It includes completed jobs with no invoice link, plus completed or invoiced jobs whose live invoices total exactly $0. Internal fleet work, canceled jobs and deleted jobs are excluded. The $0 calculation ignores void and deleted invoices. A linked void invoice alone does not make a job eligible for the no-invoice group. This is a billing backlog, not an unpaid-invoice aging report.

Tabs

There are no tabs. The page has three summary tiles, filters and one job table.

Panels and controls

  • Unbilled jobs counts the rows in the selected scope. The dollar figure beneath it sums those jobs' estimated values.
  • No invoice counts completed jobs with no invoice link.
  • $0 invoice counts completed/invoiced jobs whose live invoices net to zero.
  • Completed from and Completed to filter the job's completion date. Branch narrows the scope when available. Apply reloads the report; Reset clears the date and requested branch filters while preserving your access limits.
  • The favorite star saves the report to your report shortcuts when available.
ColumnShows
JobJob number and summary; opens the job record
CustomerCustomer at the service site, or Unknown customer
BranchJob's branch, or Unassigned branch
CompletedCompletion date, or a dash when not stamped
ReasonNo invoice or $0 invoice
Estimated valueSum of the job's line-item totals, zero if there are no lines

Jobs load oldest completion first, with missing completion dates last. The table starts at 25 rows per page. A date filter excludes jobs with no completion date. Estimated value does not subtract payments or costs, add invoice tax, or measure profit. It is the priced work recorded on the job, even when an invoice nets to zero.

When empty, No unbilled work in this scope invites you to adjust dates or branch.

Export offers CSV, XLSX and PDF for the report's selected scope. CSV and XLSX include up to 50,000 rows per section; PDF includes up to 2,000. A truncated export says how many rows were included. The money display is in US dollars; there is no currency selector or exchange-rate conversion on this screen.

What it accepts

FilterFormatRequiredRule
Completed from / toCalendar date, YYYY-MM-DDNoInvalid dates are ignored; reversed valid bounds are swapped
BranchAvailable branchNoRestricted users remain pinned to their branch

Both dates are inclusive. Completion comparisons use UTC day boundaries. The report does not edit jobs or create invoices; follow the job link to act.

How to configure it

Completion status, invoice links and priced job lines determine the population and estimated value. Branch assignments determine visibility. There is no separate report setting for the backlog or its dollar calculation.

Who can see it

Owners, office managers and dispatchers can open Reports with the standard roles; technicians cannot. Custom roles can narrow access. Branch-limited users remain in their allowed branch, including on exports; changing the URL does not expand their scope. Company-wide users can compare available branches.

See Roles & permissions.
