Purchasing spend

Open Reports → Purchasing Spend in Thermal →

What it's for

Open Reports → Purchasing spend to see what you spend with vendors over a date range. Use it to compare vendors, months and part categories, and to spot month-over-month changes.

The route is /reports/purchasing-spend.

Tabs

The report has one view whose layout depends on Group by: vendor and month, month, part category, or top 10 vendors.

Panels and controls

The header shows the number of rows. The table can show Vendor, Month, Part category, Spend, Share of range, Prior month, Monthly change and Monthly change (%). The top 10 vendors view adds Comparison month and Comparison month spend, and ends with an Other vendors row.

The Received basis uses posted receipts dated in the organization timezone; draft and reversed receipts do not count. The Committed basis uses current line totals on ordered, partly received and received POs, dated by the first ordered event or creation date; canceled, deleted, draft and unapproved POs are excluded. The two bases are alternatives, not additive. Category is the part's current category, and non-stock lines are uncategorized. Monthly change shows only for fully selected months, against the full preceding month, and a zero prior month leaves the percentage blank. Export downloads the rows as CSV with the same filters.

What it accepts

Set From, To, Basis and Group by, then select Filter. Branch chips, when available, narrow the report. This is a read-only report. You need access to Purchasing and permission to view costs.

How to configure it

Nothing in Settings changes how this screen behaves.

Who can see it

This screen sits behind the Reports area.

Owners and office managers can open it. Dispatchers and technicians cannot, because they do not have the Purchasing area or View costs by default. Opening it requires both the Purchasing area and View costs. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it.
