Panels and controls
Choose Branch and select Filter when you can compare branches. All branches is available when your account is not limited to one branch.
Tiles are On-hand value (or Incomplete when a total cannot be priced), Known value, Item-cost fallback, and Unpriced quantity share.
By item and location columns are Item, Location, Branch, Cost method, On hand, Layer value, Fallback value, Known value, On-hand value, Unpriced share, and Basis. Cost method shows the costing method set for your organization in Settings, the same for every item: fifo, lifo, weighted_average, latest_cost, manual_only, or standard. An unpriced or incomplete on-hand value shows Unpriced / incomplete. Search items or locations… filters the table. Opening an item name goes to that inventory item.
Export CSV downloads the selection.
Empty state: No stock in this scope / On-hand inventory appears here once parts are stocked at an active location.
What it accepts
FIFO and LIFO values sum each open layer's remaining quantity times its recorded unit cost. Layers are pooled across the company for each item. Location values allocate that pool in proportion to current location quantities, with rounding that preserves the total. They are allocations, not receipt-lot values. A branch filter selects locations after that allocation.
Weighted average, latest, manual, and standard costing do not maintain layers. Their configured item costs are shown as an explicit fallback. Missing FIFO or LIFO layers also use the item cost as a stated fallback. An unset cost stays unpriced. An incomplete total never displays as zero. If layer quantity exceeds stock, Basis says Layer quantity exceeds stock — reconciliation required; reconcile the item before using its valuation.
Basis otherwise reads Cost layers, Layers + item-cost fallback, or the item-cost label for a method that does not keep layers (Weighted-average item cost (no maintained layers), Latest item cost (no maintained layers), Manual item cost (no maintained layers), or Standard item cost (no maintained layers)).
Unpriced quantities are shares of the company item pool and may be fractional by location. Archived items and locations are excluded.
How to configure it
The report reads your organization's costing method from Settings, and each item's on-hand balances. It has no setting of its own.
Who can see it
This screen sits behind the Reports area.
Owners and office managers can open it. Dispatchers and technicians cannot, because they do not have the Inventory area or View costs by default. Opening it requires both the Inventory area and View costs. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it.
